SSRC Media and Democracy Background Papers
Media and Democracy Background Papers from the Social Science Reearch Council (SSRC).
"These are the broad conclusions of a 2-year process of field analysis, consultation, and planning with advocates, activists and academics in and around issues of media reform. In this process, the SSRC have partnered with a number of other institutional actors motivated by the similar concern for the missed opportunities and missing patterns of cooperation across the spectrum of research producers and users in this field....
..." The Center for International Media Action (CIMA), the Brennan Center for Justice at the NYU Law School, and the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center at Fordham University are prominent among these. Collectively, we have worked to map the fragmented terrain of media research and media reform, and identify opportunities for fostering stronger knowledge networks."
